Have you ever wondered what’s behind those Sterling Farm gates on Pacific Coast Highway at Heathercliff in the Point Dume area of Malibu? Now you can find out. The Malibu Garden Club will take a tour of the organic produce farm behind those gates.

This sprawling 16 acre organic produce farm raises the salad and vegetables you might eat at Ollo restaurant or other fine restaurants in Malibu, Beverly Hills or Las Vegas. It is currently called Malibu Fig Ranch, although I didn’t see many fig trees there. We will see how they do their composting, soil preparation, and raising of numerous plants and vegetables. After you enter the property turn left and there is a big field to park on. Walk back to the picnic table area where we will meet. Be sure and wear good walking shoes for the tour. Only MGC members can join the tour, so sign up and pay your dues by credit card and enjoy the fun.
